FAQS

GLAMPING

Can I bring my dog?

Small dogs are welcome at Cedar Valley. We ask that all dogs are kept on a lead whilst on site and that any mess is cleared up promptly.

Cedar Valley sits within an active farming and shooting estate and is surrounded by wildlife, including runner ducks, chickens, hares, deer, pheasants and partridges — so even the best-behaved dogs may be tempted to explore!

Please ensure dogs do not sit or sleep on the beds or furniture.

A £25 fee per dog per stay applies.

What is the largest group that your glamping accommodation can sleep?

Our largest individual retreats are Firs and The Cowshed, both of which sleep up to five people. Oaks sleeps four guests, with two beds on a mezzanine level (please note this is not suitable for children under six).

For larger gatherings, Firs and The Cowshed can be booked together, as they sit in the same field and work well for groups staying close by.

There is also a safari tent called Beeches located between Oaks and Firs which can be hired as a communal space for an additional fee.

Can I cancel or postpone my stay if the forecast isn't looking great?

As much as we wish we could control the weather, unfortunately glamping bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable if cancelled within 7 days of your arrival date.

We always encourage guests to embrace the great British weather — whether that means cosy evenings in your cabin or retreating to the warm, welcoming atmosphere of The Dell.

For full details, please refer to our Booking Policy and Terms & Conditions.

Do you host weddings?

Yes — we do host weddings at Cedar Valley. The field where Oaks, The Cowshed and Firs are located is available for exclusive hire, providing a beautiful countryside setting for your special day.

Marquees and other services can be arranged to help create your dream wedding celebration.

Please email emily@cedarvalley.co.uk for more information.

Is your glamping accommodation easily accessible?

There is parking on a woodchipped area adjacent to Firs, Oaks and The Cowshed. Parking for Cedars and Woodland cabins is a short walk away, along a woodland path.

Please note that all cabins have steps up to the entrance and standard-width doorways.

Is your glamping accommodation overlooked?

All of our glamping retreats are positioned to offer guests privacy and beautiful countryside views.

Cedars and Woodland are nestled in secluded spots on the edge of woodland, with stunning views down the valley. Firs, Oaks and The Cowshed are located in the same field but are thoughtfully spaced with screening and plenty of distance between them to ensure privacy.

Betty the Bedford sits in a more remote spot on the farm, with lovely views and some friendly resident runner ducks and chickens nearby.

Does your glamping accommodation have electricity?

Yes – all of our glamping properties have electricity.

Does your glamping accommodation have a fridge and freezer?

Yes. Each property has a well-equipped kitchen area with a worktop for food preparation, a gas hob, a sink with hot running water, and a small fridge with a freezer compartment.

Where can I park?

There is parking on a woodchipped area adjacent to Firs, Oaks and The Cowshed. Parking for Cedars and Woodland cabins is a short walk away, along a woodland path.

Can I book for one night?

We do not usually offer one-night stays. However, please do contact us with your enquiry and we will see if we can accommodate your request.

Is there WIFI?

There is no WiFi on site, but there is good 4G coverage across Cedar Valley.

CAMPING

What are the key differences between our Meadows and Paddock campsites?

The Paddock sits at the centre of Cedar Valley, just a stone’s throw from The Dell, our pizza restaurant, bar and café. This spacious campsite is well suited to groups and sits on a gentle slope with sweeping views across the surrounding countryside. Guests staying in The Paddock also benefit from our newly renovated ablution block.

The Meadows enjoys far-reaching views over the surrounding fields and offers a quieter setting suited to couples and families. It’s also just a short walk from The Dell, and the nearby ablution facilities are stylish, clean and eco-friendly, powered by solar energy.

Can I cancel or postpone my stay if the forecast isn't looking great?

As much as we wish we could control the weather, unfortunately camping bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable if cancelled within 7 days of your arrival date.

We always encourage guests to embrace the great British weather — whether that means enjoying the fresh countryside air or seeking refuge in the warm, welcoming atmosphere of The Dell.

Can I have a fire?

Yes — you are welcome to bring a fire bowl or use a pre-used fire pit near your pitch, or one of the communal fire pits in the centre of the field. We kindly ask that guests do not burn new holes in the grass.

We also offer a pitch-to-pitch firewood delivery service in the evenings. Firewood is £10 per bag, with the last delivery at around 7pm.

For late arrivals, additional bags of firewood will be left beside the bathroom block. Please leave payment in the honesty box.

Is the ground hard and do I need to bring a mallet to hammer in tent pegs?

Yes – during the peak of summer the ground can become quite hard, so we recommend bringing a mallet with you to help hammer in your tent pegs.

Do you have electric hookups?

No – we do not offer electric hook-ups on our campsites.

Can I bring a motorhome or caravan?

No – unfortunately we are unable to accommodate motorhomes or caravans.

Can I bring my campervan?

Yes – camper vans are very welcome at Cedar Valley.

What facilities do you have on site?

We have bathroom cabins with showers, basins and proper loos – no camping compromises here! We also provide a covered sink area for washing up.

Can I play music?

You are welcome to play quiet music beside your pitch until 9pm. After this time, we ask that children return to their pitches and that the campsites become quiet.

We welcome fun and laughter, but please be considerate of other campers at all times, especially in the evenings.

Can I book for one night?

We do not usually offer one-night stays. However, please do contact us with your enquiry and we will see if we can accommodate your request.

Do you have a restaurant or bar?

Yes — we have a wonderful on-site café, bar and restaurant called The Dell, set beneath a canopy of majestic beech trees at the heart of Cedar Valley.

With a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere, it’s a place where children can run free while adults unwind with great food and drinks. Boycie the Bus, our converted double-decker café, serves excellent coffee alongside homemade cakes and savoury treats, while the kitchen fires up delicious wood-fired pizzas. You’ll also find a great selection of local beers, ciders and other drinks to enjoy in the sunshine.

The Dell is open from April until late September. For opening hours and events, please visit the Dell website.
